Why do my feet hurt after wearing my G8’s?

Initially when you begin wearing G8 orthotic insoles, your feet need to adjust to the flexion and movement, so your muscles and tendons may feel a bit sore due to minor inflammation.

This is completely normal and you can alleviate this by breaking in your G8’s slowly to gradually strengthen the muscles of your feet and improve your foot health.

How do G8’s support my arches?

The G8 design encourages your feet to move naturally inside your shoe rather than locking them into a rigid position.

This allows the intrinsic muscles on the underside of the foot to activate during movement. Over time, this may help improve foot strength and support the natural arch of the foot.

The height of the arch piece is selected based on the shape and height of the forward portion of your arch as well as comfort.

As a general guideline, the arch support should make contact with the forward arch when the foot is non-weight bearing.

How much should I trim off my orthotic insoles?
How long do G8 orthotic insoles last?

You will need a new insole when your arch support is no longer optimal and you have
progressed to the highest arch height your foot allows.Ā 2620 PRO SERIES orthotic insoles should last for the life of your shoe (approximately 12–18 months).

Due to the amount of sweat produced by the feet (approximately 250 ml per foot), combined with heat and friction, the materials in your shoes and G8 insoles will gradually degrade and no longer function optimally.

There is also a hygiene factor to consider. The arch pieces are durable, but over time the spring in the arch support may reduce. Some people also wear out their shoes faster than others, which can affect the lifespan of the insoles.

The arch pieces perform best when positioned under the forward arch rather than toward the rear of the foot near the heel.

Take care of your feet and they will take care of you.

Help! My G8’s are giving me blisters!

New movement and biomechanics and better foot positioning with new G8’s can result in rubbing and blisters.

Make sure to wear them in slowly and you’ll find them comfortable in no time.

Can I wear G8’s in any shoe?

The G8 Performance 2620 PRO SERIES orthotic insoles may be customised to fit most enclosed footwear, including sports shoes, ski boots, work boots, hiking boots, skates, and medical or orthopaedic footwear.

They are not suitable for high-heeled shoes.

You can use the same pair of G8 orthotic insoles in different shoes (e.g., running shoes and cycling shoes), but it is best to set up the G8 insole specifically for the activity or application.

I am very flat footed. Would the G8 2620s work for me?

The many problems caused by flat feet are one of the main reasons the 2620 orthotic insoles were developed.

G8 2620s are designed to encourage natural foot movement inside the shoe. Over time, this may help the feet become stronger and more effective at transferring force through the ball of the foot.

As foot function improves, circulation may improve (helping reduce hot spots), and sensory feedback from the foot may increase, allowing better coordination and movement.

Improved force transfer can also help reduce strain on the calves, Achilles tendon, and knees.

This is not an instant fix. Like any muscular system, the feet require time to adapt, and the rest of the body will follow.

It is recommended to begin with the Level 1 arch piece and progress gradually as your feet adapt. The arch piece can be increased to Level 2 and beyond, and adjusted in position as needed. Refer to the fitting guide for full details.

Progression varies depending on the individual and may take several months.

It is important to listen to your body, as this is the best indicator of when to adjust arch height or position.

Some plantar muscle soreness may occur if you use the 2620s extensively right away. Allow time for your feet to adapt, and reduce usage if discomfort occurs.
