INSOLES FOR WEIGHT LIFTING
2620s as weight lifting insoles
While weightlifting, our 29 foot muscles become extremely active - each one assisting in stability and power transfer in some way.

The moment force is transferred from the hips to the feet
Just at the moment force is transferred from the hips to the feet, there always seems to be a slight pause prior to the weights leaving the ground.
This moment is when the foot flattens out and the force is transferred through the ball of the foot and into the ground. Some energy is lost during this process as the forward arch of the foot collides with the inside of the shoe.
G8 Performance Pro Series 2620 Insoles combat that energy loss as well as deliver support precisely where it’s needed to alleviate pressure and discomfort from those repetitive small motions and movements as you lift.

2620s in action when weight lifting
When wearing the G8 Performance 2620’s with the flexible arch piece in the forward arch (right behind the ball of the foot), the force transfer is immediate.
The pause disappears as the foot, already in contact with the arch piece, transfers maximal force through the ball of the foot. Collision forces are practically eliminated and the transfer of force is immediate.
The flattening and splaying of the foot is more controlled and the force is dissipated over a larger surface area.
During this whole movement the flexible arch piece is in contact with the foot, even when no force is being exerted. This helps keep the nerves of the kinetic chain connected and enhances proprioceptive feedback.
The 2620’s work in specific lifting shoes, as well as barefoot shoes and other, closed in gym shoes.
G8 Performance Pro Series 2620 Insoles also help reduce the risk of injury by providing fully customised support and cushioning to the feet, helping reduce stress on the joints.
More than power transfer...
Engaging the feet reduces the amount of returned force to other parts of the body. For every action there is an equal opposite reaction, that is, if the force is not transferred through the feet then the remaining force returns back up the body.
Depending on body alignment, this can affect ankles, knees, hips, and back. The 2620’s help to expel more of the force being applied than by reducing the collision forces at impact and keeping the feet engaged when not expelling force.
- 2620’s reduce collision forces when force is transferred to the feet
- Increase force transfer
- Engage synapses and nerve endings which increases proprioception
- Enable proper foot biomechanics to strengthen feet.
Why wear insoles for weight lifting if I don't have foot problems?
-
Shoes inhibit the foot's ability to move naturally. This can lead to the muscles in your feet atrophying. This is what causes pain and numbness - so keeping your feet healthy and strong is an excellent way to prevent the pain from ever appearing in the first place.
-
Because they exercise your foot muscles, using 2620s as your weight lifting orthotic insoles will over time, enhance your performance. By making your feet stronger, you’ll be able to expel more force through them, leading you to be more stable and move faster.
-
Your feet are more important than you think, and if they’re too weak, the rest of the body will have to compensate. This can lead to issues with your back, knees, ankles and more. The health of your feet has an impact on your overall health.
-
G8 Performance 2620 insoles have been designed to increase blood flow, and so support the healthy supply of blood to your feet. Healthy blood circulation is essential for general health and in the case of our feet can prevent conditions such as "hot foot".
-
G8 2620 insoles increase foot proprioception. Increasing the feeling in your foot is a great way to improve your balance and agility - and prevent falls or injuries caused by numbness of toes and feet.

Stronger feet mean:
1. Increased force transfer, which means greater forward momentum and less pressure on lower limbs
2. Better biomechanics and a positive effect on ankles, knees, hips and back
3. Better balance and brain-foot connection (proprioception), meaning your feet respond quickly and more accurately to your brain’s placement signals

Weight lifting performance and injury prevention are implicitly tied to foot health and strength
G8 Performance 2620 insoles are specially designed to strengthen your feet by mimicking the dynamic function of bare feet even whilst you are wearing shoes.
Unlike other insole products on the market, 2620’s aren’t a ‘quick fix’.
Instead, they are designed to increase foot strength and health in the long term. And because 2620’s are fully customizable, they can be quickly and easily adjusted as your feet strengthen.
Many 2620 users report increased performance and endurance over time.
2620’s actively exercise and strengthen the forefoot by assisting flex at the forefoot for maximum energy disbursement on impact. This allows the foo to efficiently expel energy.
Other full-foot benefits include:
- Supporting the foot throughout the entire gait cycle
- Enhancing stretch and strength within the foot
- Maintaining bone structure
- Facilitating a more natural way of moving.
As more and more lifters adopt the 2620s, we continue to hear how lifters at all levels are experiencing what we now know as improvements in biomechanical symmetry, and power output as the feet continue to become stronger and more efficient.
2620 benefits for lifters
-
Increased force transferal (more forward momentum)
-
Increased foot strength
-
Reduced torque on calf and Achilles (you know you have calf cramps no matter how much magnesium you take)
-
Increased blood flow (has cooling effect)
-
Reduced incidence of toe and foot numbness
